Speciality from the pastry Mazas, the croustade is a delightful dessert from Foix. Traditionally stuffed with apples, it is made of flaky pastry.
Local crafting speciality, the Savignac knives – the cutlery Savignac exists since 1893 – are assembled in the workshop located behind the dedicated shop. Ideal souvenir from your trip to Foix, the Savignac stamped knives are the assurance of solidity and meticulousness that make the strength of the local craftsmen since centuries.
Even for those who don’t appreciate any kind of liver or offal, the Liverwurst (saucisse de foie) from Foix is a delightful butchery specialty that is enjoyed with pre-dinner drinks.
Foix also holds a market every fridays. It is set up over the allées de Villote, under the halle aux grains, around the halle Saint-Volusien and over the place Violet. It offers regional products as well as home-made ones and is the occasion for a stroll around the heart of the city. In addition to the weekly market, every 1st, 3rd and 5th mondays of the month happens the local fair over the allées de Villote, where one can also come across numerous local products among other things.

At a few minutes of walk from the oustal, the centre aquatique de Foix (aquatic centre) is the occasion to fill your holidays with a session of swimming in the summer. Bathing shorts are forbidden.
